GYXIS CORPORATION Offsets Its GHG Emissions and Begins Selling Carbon-Neutral LPG

GYXIS CORPORATION (President and Representative Director: Fumiaki NOKURA) has offset the greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions associated with its business activities (limited to scope 1 and 2* GHG emissions), by utilizing voluntary carbon credits certified by international third-party certification body.

GYXIS CORPORATION ’s GHG emissions is measured under the supervision of ERM Japan Ltd., based on the GHG Protocol, an internationally recognized standard for calculating and reporting GHG emissions (“GHG Protocol”).

In addition to offsetting its scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions as described above, GYXIS CORPORATION will start selling carbon-neutral LPG** in April 2022. The introduction of carbon-neutral LPG will support efforts and activities to reduce GHG emissions on a global scale. The carbon credits GYXIS CORPORATION procured at this time are expected to contribute to the protection of biodiversity and the support for agriculture and education of local communities, in addition to reducing GHG emissions.

GYXIS CORPORATION will endeavor to realize a sustainable society by promoting a project for greening LP gas (propane and butane) through the Institute of Japan Green LP Gas Promotion, a general incorporated association established jointly with four other LP gas distributors in October 2021, and by utilizing highly trusted voluntary carbon credits recognized by international certification bodies.

**Carbon-neutral LPG
A type of LP gas in which GHGs expected to be generated in its entire value chain from production to consumption (combustion) are offset by carbon credits recognized by credit certification bodies. Carbon credits are certificates of the reduction of GHG emissions achieved through environmental conservation projects around the world, certified by credit certification bodies as voluntary carbon credits.
